Unitree robot dogs

The continuous evolution of Martec Srl, searching for the most advanced technologies available today for clients, has led us to become authorized distributor for Italy for Unitree. With their robot dogs Unitree has stunned the market by offering "intelligent" bionic quadrupeds, easy to use and with multiple application areas, capable of carrying out various tasks and successfully supporting man in scientific research, educational, environmental monitoring activities and rescue operations.
The compactness characteristics and first-rate technological equipment which include integrated Artificial Intelligence systems make these robot dogs a versatile and multifunctional resource suitable for preliminary visual investigations and for emergency or critical situations.

Main uses of Unitree robot dogs

Visual inspection – Equipped with stereoscopic cameras, they offer advanced primary visual inspection functions even in spaces and environments that are inaccessible to humans. The documentation software allows the acquisition and reading of data of all kinds, thus automating various routine activities for mapping environments.

3D environmental reconstruction – Thanks to its sensors, on-board hardware and video analysis software, the robot dog is the perfect integration between robotics, automation and digitalization and it is capable of performing accurate 3D scans and reconstructions, for example in construction sites, thus facilitating human operations and protecting workers from possible risk factors or accidents.

Thermal monitoring – All the advanced video recording and analysis functions are implemented by the possibility of thermal monitoring even in high-risk areas such as production plants or energy generation plants. In similar contexts it is able to detect whether there are anomalous temperatures or gas leaks by sending all the necessary alerts in real time to the operator who controls it remotely.

Robotic arm – Among the numerous options available, the dogs can be equipped with a robotic arm capable of performing various functions including grabbing objects and moving them or lifting weights. This characteristic makes it an extremely versatile tool to be used for different purposes without ever replacing man but assisting him to prevent dangerous actions in risky environments.

Use in first aid - Unitree intelligent robot dogs have long participated in first aid missions such as those carried out in the event of natural disasters, catastrophes or earthquakes to help rescuers identify survivors. The ability to move in narrow spaces and also on uneven or rough terrains makes it an essential resource in this area of application, because in disaster scenarios and where it may be risky for humans to explore the environment, the Unitree dog minimizes the dangers and allows at the same time saving lives.

Main technical characteristics

Some of its main strengths are:

  • Connectivity up to 5G
  • Maximum speed 17 km/h (5 m/s)
  • Long lasting battery
  • Integrated AI systems

In addition, they can be equipped with various devices that expand their range of action and operation:

  • Robotic arm previously described through which it can perform various operations
  • LiDAR sensor to scrutinize the surrounding environment, map it and move within it: to be clear, this is the same type of sensor mounted on the best floor cleaning robots
  • Case for transport and storage
  • IP68 protection degree to operate even in adverse weather conditions, in the presence of rain or humidity.

Very soon the humanoids developed on the same dog management platform (H!1) will be also available to order: see https://www.unitree.com/en/h1/.
